The Hive in Action
Your generosity provided $37,500 in grants to eight organizations serving women and children in Madison County.
Because of you, the room was filled with more than conversation. It was filled with purpose.
Through your giving, along with sponsorships and the matches, Women in Philanthropy awarded a record amount in grants this year at the annual luncheon.
While $30,000 was awarded to our three finalists, Aspire Indiana Health Kids Talk, Bloom Madison County, and Operation Love Ministries, an additional $7,500 was set aside for a collective giving experience called The Hive in Action.
During the luncheon, each table was entrusted with a portion of funding and invited to step into the role of a grant committee. As conversations unfolded, women leaned in, listened closely, and considered the real needs and stories represented in each initiative. Together, they worked to determine how their table’s funding would be distributed.
The process invited thoughtful discussion and shared decision making. It offered a closer look at the complexity of giving and the responsibility that comes with it, while also creating space for connection and learning. Through this experience, five additional organizations received funding:
· Anderson First Church of the Nazarene Community Center
· Anderson Housing Authority
· Anderson Heartland Scholar House
· Pete’s Pantry
· TeenWorks
What happened in that room was more than an exercise. It was a glimpse of what is possible when women come together, not just to give, but to listen, to learn, and to act. Your generosity did more than fund programs. It created space for deeper awareness. It brought new voices into the story. And it extended the reach of impact in ways that will continue far beyond that afternoon.
Every gift, large and small, contributes to the mission of Madison County Community Foundation to invest in lasting positive change to elevate and strengthen Madison County.
