Bloom Madison County

Your generosity creates vibrant spaces that narrow nutritional gaps and build a stronger, more connected community.

At Bloom Madison County, growth isn’t just about gardens, it’s about cultivating connection. Through programs like the Anderson Farmers Market, Bloom is creating a welcoming space where families can access fresh, healthy food while learning the skills to sustain themselves long after the market closes for the season. From hands-on cooking classes and gardening workshops to art activities and live music, the market is transforming downtown Anderson into a place where education, wellness, and community come together.

Thanks to a grant from the Madison County Community Foundation, Bloom expanded its Bloom & Learn programming, enriching market days with family-friendly activities, yoga sessions, and creative projects that bring people together.

Children painted rocks that now brighten the market garden, practiced yoga alongside goats, and proudly “sold” their first works of art. These experiences nurture confidence, curiosity, and joy. Beyond the fun, the impact has been profound: 785 children received fresh produce through PoP tokens, and 85% of parents said their children are now more willing to eat fruits and vegetables at home.

The market’s reach extends far beyond food. It is helping families in need stretch their budgets and make healthier choices. SNAP and Double SNAP benefits grew by 20% this year, allowing more households to bring home local produce. For local farmers and artisans, the impact is equally powerful as sales have increased and new partnerships are forming across Madison County’s growing network of community gardens and markets..

Your generosity helps Bloom create spaces where learning is free, food is accessible, and community flourishes. Together, we’re sowing the seeds of a healthier, stronger Madison County.
