Our impact on Madison County since 1992 has been remarkable; a legacy full of countless stories of community members helping one another through the foundation's stewardship of their resources.

We believe that there is a philanthropist in all of us and your partnership is needed as we embrace new opportunities and meet emerging needs. Whether you are interested in establishing a fund, contributing to an existing fund, naming the Foundation as an estate beneficiary, or advancing local philanthropy in some other way, we have a place for you and your perspectives.

Thank you for believing in Madison County, and in your Madison County Community Foundation.

“It’s like a family.”

Your generosity provides support, scholarship, and sisterhood for single moms.

A young mother sits in her beautifully decorated apartment and looks forward to the next step in her journey: the opportunity to receive a post-secondary education. The ‘family’ that Anisha is referring to is the Anderson Scholar House, a remarkable program that empowers single mothers to break the cycle of poverty through education and comprehensive support.  [read more]

What We Do:

The Madison County Community Foundation addresses the broad needs in our county which include, but are not limited to, the following five categories:

  • Arts and culture to include the support of programs and facilities which are designed to establish a diversified county cultural program that offers widespread opportunities for participation and appreciation; and

  • Education to include support for programs in preschool, elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education, scholarships, and special education programs;

  • Health to include the support of hospitals, rehabilitation centers, not-for-profit health and medical related programs including safety and wellness and recreational programs;

  • Human Services to include the support of human service organizations, programs for children and youth, and services to the aged;

  • Civic Affairs to include the support of programs and facilities related to criminal justice, community development, employment, citizens’ involvement, leadership training, and other community activities

One of the Madison County Community Foundation’s most significant partnerships over the past 30 years has been with Lilly Endowment Inc.

Lilly Endowment recently announced the eighth phase of its Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) initiative, allocating up to $210 million to help Indiana community foundations strengthen the quality of life in the towns, cities, and counties they serve.

Through GIFT VIII, Lilly Endowment has invited the Madison County Community Foundation to apply for matching grant funds which will enable MCCF to develop unrestricted assets, implement projects and programs that address community needs, and build internal capacity.
