2019 Scholarships

Alexander Character in Athletics Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating seniors who will attend a four year accredited college, junior college, or technical school.
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew. 

 

Gladys Susan Allen Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Graduating seniors from Elwood Community High School
  • Will pursue a major in nursing or mathematics
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew.

 

The Anderson XI Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating seniors from one of the following high schools: Anderson High School, Liberty Christian School, Lapel High School, Frankton High School, Indiana Christian Academy, Anderson Preparatory Academy, or those who have been home schooled
  • Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Intend to pursue a degree from an accredited Indiana institution
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew. 

 

Alternatives Inc., Mary Jo Lee Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a resident of Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Madison, or Tipton County
  • Have been impacted by domestic and/or sexual violence

 

NEW in 2019 Alice Baldwin Memorial Nursing Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Graduating from a Madison County high school
  • Must be female
  • Plan to enroll in nursing education classes or programs

 

The William & Louise Bender Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Graduating students who live with the Alexandria-Monroe school district.
  • Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Intend to pursue a degree from an accredited Indiana institution
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew. 

 

The Carl Bonge Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Graduating seniors of Anderson High School.
  • Participated in track or cross country at AHS.
  • Plan to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew. 

 

The Robert E. Campbell Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating from a Madison County High School
  • Have maintained a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
  • Intend to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Engineering at an accredited college or university.
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew. 

The Earle Selkirk and Olevia Bourke Cascadden Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating from Lapel High School
  • Plan to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree from an accredited college or university.

 

The Dickmann Youth Community Service Award  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating seniors attending a Madison County High School
  • Have participated in community service work

 

The Georgia F. Edgell Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Alexandria-Monroe High School.

 

The Mrs. Anna Harting Elsten & Dr. A. Wayne Elsten Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Elwood High School.
  • Are graduating seniors who will attend a two or four year institution of higher learning.
  • Plan to study nursing or medicine.

 

The Bill & Gloria Gaither Arts Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Alexandria-Monroe High School.
  • Have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Plan to attend a 4-year college or university with the goal of a major or minor in the Arts Field.

 

The Don & Diana Garner Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Elwood High School.
  • Plan to attend, full time, an accredited Indiana 2 or 4 year university, college, community college, or technical school.
  • OR
  • Have just completed their first academic year with the scholarship and wish to renew (Students wishing to renew must maintain their full time status, and must have maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher)

 

The Ralph & Lova Garriott Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Madison County.
  • Plan to pursue a 4 year baccalaureate degree at an accredited college or university.
  • OR
  • Are current recipients wishing to renew.

 

The Stephen Hamer Memorial Fund Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Madison County.
  • degree at a 2 or 4 year college/university, or a 2 year degree at a junior college or technical school.

NEW in 2019 Chris Hatzell Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating from Frankton High School.
  • Have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Have actively participated in a sport(s) during his/her high school career (including team managers)
  • Have done a minimum of 10 hours of community service during their senior year

 

The George and Nancye Hawes Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating from Anderson High School
  • Who plan to attend a two or four year institution of higher learning
  • Have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5

 

The Farada M. & Jacqueline Hensley Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating from a Madison County High School.
  • Have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Will attend an accredited post-secondary school.

 

The Kathryn Hotzel Journalism Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from a Madison County High School.
  • Plan to study journalism (as a major or minor) at an accredited college or university. *Preference will be given to individuals who have been active in the bowling community or who plan to specialize in sports journalism.*

 

The Janice Paige Hughes Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from a Madison County High School.
  • Must be a major in education, specializing in the teaching of special education, or students with disabilities.
  • Will be at least in their third year of studies at the university level during the academic year of the scholarship.

 

NEW in 2019 The Minnie Hunt Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating students from a Madison County High School
  • Must be under the age of 25
  • Have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Plan to attend a four year accredited college, junior college, or technical school.

 

NEW in 2019 The Interstate Warehousing Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating from Anderson High School
  • Who plan to attend Anderson University, Purdue Polytechnic Anderson or Ivy Tech Community College
  • Have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0

 

The Janny Green Jones Educational Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating seniors from Alexandria-Monroe High School.
  • Plan to pursue a degree in education.

 

The John T. Kiely Medical Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Madison County or current college students from Madison County.
  • Plan to pursue a degree in medicine.
  • Plan to or current attend a four year accredited college or university.

 

The Doris Kintzel Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Elwood High School.
  • Are graduating seniors who will attend a two or four year institution of higher learning.
  • Have a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.5.
  • Plan to pursue a degree in the area of business.

 

The George Kintzel Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating vocational students from Hinds Career Center, in the Trade and Industry Program. *Preference will be shown to students from the Elwood Community Schools district.*
  • Are graduating seniors who will attend a two or four year institution of higher learning.
  • Have a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.5.
  • Will attend a 2 or 4 year accredited academic institution.

 

The Rachel Lakes Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Are current residents of Indiana
  • Intend to pursue a post-secondary degree in some field of religious studies.
  • Plan to or current attend a four year accredited college or university.
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew.

 

The Jessica Lyons Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from Madison County.
  • Plan to or current attend a four year accredited college, university, junior college or technical school.
  • Have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.67 or higher.
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew.

 

The Mike Maley Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating seniors at Alexandria-Monroe High School.
  • Plan to attend, or are currently attending, a technical school, junior college, two-year associate degree program or business school.
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew.

 

The Derek Matthew Packard Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating senior student athletes from Lapel High School.
  • Have maintained a GPA of 3.0 during his/her high school career.
  • Have actively participated in a sport during his/her high school career.
  • Are actively involved in a Christ-centered organization (for example, but not limited to: Fellow of Christian Athletes, Athletes in Action, or Young Life).

 

The Dorothea & Cecil Ray Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are a member in good standing with the Bethany Christian Church, Anderson, Indiana for a period of at least 1 year prior to submission of application.
  • Are graduating seniors who will be pursuing a two or four year degree at a post-secondary institution.
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew.

 

The Ernie Reichart Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Male seniors graduating from Elwood Community High School.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Plan to attend, full time, an accredited Indiana 2 or 4 year university, college, community college, or technical school.

 

The Frances Reichart Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Female seniors graduating from Elwood Community High School.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Plan to attend, full time, an accredited Indiana 2 or 4 year university, college, community college, or technical school.

The Eulala Roettger Scholarship for Future Teachers  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from a Madison County High School.
  • Will pursue a degree in education at an accredited college or university

The Lynsey Schildmeier Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application.
  • Are graduating students from a Madison County High School.
  • Will attend an accredited college or university

 

The Lance Corporal Matthew Smith Memorial Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors at Pendleton Heights High School or Anderson Preparatory Academy
  • Will pursue a degree in History at an accredited college or university

 

The Merl and Birdie Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors from Elwood Community High School
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Plan to attend, full time, an accredited Indiana 2 or 4 year university, college, community college, or technical school

 

The Soroptomist Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors from Daleville High School or Anderson High School
  • Have a cumulative GPA between 1.8 and 2.8
  • Plan to pursue a post-secondary education at a state accredited institution of higher learning
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew

The Florence Margaret Spreen, Edward Nicholas Spreen, and Kathryne Ellen Spreen Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors from a Madison County High School
  • Are a member of the First Baptist Church of Alexandria, Indiana
  • Plan to pursue a post-secondary education at a state accredited institution of higher learning
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew

The Joseph & Ellen St. Clair Vocational School Scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors from the Hinds Career Center School

 

The Brad Stansberry Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Will pursue a degree in engineering at Purdue University
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew

 

The Betty E. & Ralph J. Starkey Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors from Elwood Community High School
  • Are recommended by the faculty of the ECHS English Department
  • Have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Will attend a four year accredited college, junior college, or technical school

 

The Bernice Surratt Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors from Anderson Community Schools
  • Plan to further study musical arts (as a major or minor) at an accredited university or college
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew

 

The Ralph W. & Emza E. Thurston Basketball Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors attending Alexandria-Monroe High School
  • Are playing basketball for AMHS as a senior
  • Have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Will attend a two or four year accredited college, junior college, technical or trade school

 

The Wingrove Scholarship  is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have been a Madison County Resident for 12 months prior to application
  • Are graduating seniors from Elwood Community High School
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.67
  • Plan to attend an accredited college, junior college, or technical school
  • OR
  • Are current scholarship recipients and wish to renew
