Spring Foundation Grant Awardees Announced
The Madison County Community Foundation Board of Directors approved just over $81,000.00 in funding for thirteen non-profit agencies serving Madison County.
City of Anderson Quality of Life Grants
In 2009, Mayor Ockomon appointed Madison County Community Foundation to oversee the grant process ensuring this fund is used as economic development quality of life assistance to non-profits. Generated through the City of Anderson's food and beverage tax, the Fund balance changes annually and is dispersed equitably and fairly to those non-profits who a) have no voting representation on the committee; b) are not solely supporting non-secular activities with these funds; c) carry proof of 501c3 status; and d) are requesting funding for projects with outcomes rather than operational expenses. The Fund must be used to increase quality of life for all rather than limited access. Funding allocation for academic educational programming should be limited; however projects proposing health education activities are highly desirable.
